The secret to the garment’s AAA rating is its two-layer combination of stretch cotton shell with an XTM Fiber liner—which is a proprietary medley of Kevlar and Cordura fibers. The result is a garment that feels plentifully thick, but still manages to breathe while on the bike. And for those really hot days, deploy the hidden zippered and underarm vents, and the broad horizontal exhaust vent, and the wind whistles right through this piece.

All the vents are backed with a sturdy mesh, which keeps bees or other debris from getting in, and helps hold the garment together and keep the armor in place even with the vents wide open.
